Depth-Oriented Individual Therapy in Austin, TX
You may be functioning well on the outside—working, parenting, maintaining relationships—while feeling stuck, anxious, disconnected, or quietly overwhelmed underneath.
Maybe you’ve tried therapy before. You understand your patterns intellectually. You may even have solid coping strategies. And yet something still feels unresolved.
Sometimes the issue isn’t a lack of insight. It’s that the emotional roots of those patterns haven’t been worked through in a way that allows real change.
Understanding is important. But lasting shift often happens when you can slow down, feel what’s underneath, and relate to those parts of yourself differently.
-
I practice relational, depth-oriented therapy. That means our work focuses on understanding the emotional and relational patterns beneath your symptoms—not just managing them.
We pay attention not only to what you talk about, but to how you experience yourself and others in real time.
In our sessions, we may:
Slow down and explore emotions as they arise
Notice relational patterns as they unfold between us
Work with protective parts rather than pushing them away
Attend to body sensations as meaningful information
Gently connect present struggles to earlier experiences
My approach is informed by Attachment Theory, AEDP, Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, and mindfulness-based practices. Together, these approaches support meaningful, lasting change by helping you understand yourself more deeply and respond to yourself with greater clarity and compassion.

Sessions are 50 minutes and typically held weekly to support depth and continuity. Therapy works best when there is consistency and a shared commitment to the process.
Why Go Deeper?
Our early experiences shape how we protect ourselves. Often without realizing it, we develop ways to stay emotionally safe—disconnecting from our needs, minimizing feelings, becoming hyper-independent, or staying highly attuned to others.
These strategies were adaptive. They made sense in the environments where they formed.
Over time, though, they can solidify into patterns that leave you stuck in relationships, caught in cycles of self-criticism or shame, emotionally overwhelmed—or unsure how to access what you truly feel.
Depth-oriented therapy offers an opportunity to gently reshape those long-standing patterns—not by forcing change, but by understanding how and why they formed.
When we approach all parts of you with curiosity and compassion—even the ones you judge or avoid—something begins to shift. You can respond rather than react. You may begin to feel more whole and less divided inside.
